Sandra at dinner on the terrace of the Bergschenke restaurant in Atzbach, not too far from Giessen. My dear friend Christiane Müller. Herr Müller, Christiane's father. The view from our table overlooking Atzbach. Church tower in the middle of the village of Atzbach on the Lahn River. Look! Soccer fever was everywhere! Frau Müller and Christiane after dinner. Carolyn, Frau Müller, Christiane and Sandra. I lived with the Müller family back '87 to '88. A view of the Bergschenke's terrace. The Bergschenke (Mountain Gift). The owners live above the restaurant. The next day we go into Giessen. This is the city tower. Giessen was pretty much destroyed in WWII and not much of the original city was left. The sign says Carolyn, Christiane and Ryan at the Müller's house. Seltersweg (Selter's Path), the pederstrian zone in downtown Giessen Crazy tourists! Another view of Seltersweg. Most German cities have these kind of pedestrian malls. They're great. Sandra found another possible souvenir. She loved the Fussball Fieber (Soccer Fever) everywhere. Overlooking the Giessen pedestrian zone on a bright, sunny summer day. Ryan, Carolyn and Christine (pronounced Christiane, Sandra and Carolyn. We needed to go to Frankfurt to pick up our game tickets. This was the line we had to stand in. The line wasn't too bad. Only 45 minutes ... in the hot sun. After we got the tickets we needed to get a drink and a snack. Christiane took us to a nice restaurant in a section of Frankfurt called Sachsenhausen. This area is known for a their own local type of sour apple wine, Germany was in a bit of a heat wave. Sitting outside was definitely nicer than sitting inside. The entire gang: Sandra, Ryan, Christiane and Carolyn.
